Defected USB - Stat run

Image result for iphone charger

Problem:

One fine afternoon I went to the mac book cart to charge my i phone.  There are some lightning cables at the bottom of the cart that can be used to charge apple products.  I plug in my phone and
noticed that it wasn't charging.  So I take my phone out of that charger and plug it into a new one and my phone started charging.  Mason then comes trotting along with his air pod case and plugs it into the charger that did not work for me. His case doesn't charge either. So we decide to find what was causing this, it could be the cart, the outlet, the head of the charger, the usb, or any other problem.

Solution:

To find the cause of the problem we decided to test each item individually.  First we took all four of the cables out and plugged them into another outlet in the stat room.  We noticed that three of them worked and one of them didn't. From this we concluded that it was not the outlet.  Then we took out the lightning cable itself and swiped them around the heads.  Still, one charger ceased to work.  This meant that it had to either be a USB cable or a charger head.  So we separated the one charger that was not working.  We took the head off and tried another cable with it. This worked and my phone was able to charge, then we took the seperated and tested it with known working head. We noticed that my phone did not charge.  We finally concluded that this USB was defected.  We brought it to Mr. Mogowan who said that he would replace it.  This stat project was never listed in school dude, me and mason identified a problem and took troubleshooting action toward it.
