Airpods

Airpods are wireless earphones created by apple.  They were first released in December 13, 2016.  Although they were criticized for their price and concept at first because many thought that you could get the same performance for cheaper wireless headphones (like the power beats 3) or the included wired headphones that you did not have to buy.  Regardless of this preconception, the airpods quickly became apples most popular accessory product with over 35 million copies sold.  They even came out with a second kind with improved battery and other features.  Other than just listening to music, airpods can do much more.  Airpods feature a built in microphone that filters out background music.  This allows to make phone calls and talking to apple personal assistant siri which can be activated by tapping the earphone tice, and for the second generation can be voice activated by saying "hey Siri".

Built in accelerameters and optical sensors can detect in-ear placement and will pause if they detect they are taken out of a users ear.
      The charging case can charge the pods for a total of 24 hours of usage.  During a tear down, each airpod was found to contain a 93 milliwatt hour battery in its system.In the second  generation apple claims that the airpod has 50 percent more talk time and faster device connection times.  The second generation airpods can be purchased with the 1st generation charger or pay an extra 40 dollars to get the new wireless charger.  If airpod users with an old charger want to upgrade to the new wirless charger they can buy it separately for 79 dollars.
