Google Daydream
The google Daydream is a headset where you can experience virtual reality. While wearing these goggles, you can travel to anywhere in the world and get 360° view. This headset can be thought of to be a relaxing activity, and used just for fun, but there are many other uses for these that go beyond pleasure.
One of the big things with this device is the personal creation of virtual reality. You can make your own little world, and basically do whatever with it! Many imaginary creatures and actions can be done, and seem very realistic, so it’s like dreaming while you're awake, hence the name Daydream. This is the creative portion of the app, and can be used in the classroom. Maybe in art class, you can be assigned to make a world and explore the possibilities of your imagination. Or in a home economics class, you could design a house and have a budget and list of necessities to make the house fit the criteria. Or even in english class, you could design the setting of a book that you're reading, and have the recording of the reading playing, so you could experience it like you are in the book with the characters. The possibilities are endless with this creative portion in school.
The other portion is the being able to visit so many places worldwide, whenever and wherever. You can basically travel the world, and visit many different places and historic artifacts and museums. This could be very useful in many school classes for learning purposes. In history, if learning about certain events, the headset could be used to go visit the possible museums and statues, and experience the artifact more than just looking at a picture in a textbook. The google Daydream is also equipped to go to places in outer space, so in science class they could visit the planets and stars, and all the things in our milky way. A first hand view of these could give a better understanding of these places that are visited, and just an education in general.
Although it is a google run application, the Daydream application is available to get downloaded on many smartphone devices besides the google phones, including moto z, samsung, android, HTC, LG, and many others. With many devices being included, this gives the device more usability and flexibility because it includes all types of users. it also comes in a variety of different colors, as well as a remote, so the location can be controlled.
This google Daydream is extraordinary and very versatile, and can greatly improve the education styles, and learning in general. This can take learning to the next level, and make education go beyond what it already is, which is great.
