The AHS iPad cart has many possibilities for usage in the classroom, and one of those uses is in the English hallway. Each iPad has a bluetooth keyboard that is linked to it, and this enables the iPad to be used more easily for drafting essays or even working collaboratively.

Using Google Drive, essays can be written and edited on the iPad itself while still being accessible at home through the student's Google Account. The essays or other written documents can then be shared with the teacher in a quick and easy way so that the teacher see the student's progress or grade the final result. This allows for the teachers to easily keep track of students' work, and allows the student to have all of their work in one easy to access location.

Using the iPads with Google Drive and a Bluetooth keyboard also allow students to work collaboratively on a single project. If, for example, a student shared his or her short answer worksheet with a partner in order to work in a pair, the two could edit the document simultaneously, allowing for group work where everyone can more easily contribute from school and home.

One difficulty with this use of technology is that the teacher will have to change their teaching methods in order to accommodate for work turned in through Google Drive. This also opens the door for a completely paperless process, and the teacher could grade through Google Drive's comments and iPass, or have students print out the final result of their work.
