StudyBlue (SB) is an application that has the ability to vastly aid someone in the realm of education. The StudyBlue application main use is to act as a dropbox for flashcards. Meaning, you can either log on to the web browser to access the application through an e-mail username or access the application via a mobile device through the same e-mail. This application is primarily used for studying vocabulary terms by using virtual flashcards.
Now, of course, there is a free version of this application and paid version of this application. The paid version costs a little more than the average application and unfortunately you can only buy an annual subscription or a monthly subscription, there is not one single payment. The annual cost is 80 dollars whereas the monthly fee is 10 dollars. The paid version of this application allows you to set an unlimited amount of reminders that tell you when to study whereas the free version limits you to only 30 reminders/notifications a month. I have only had access to the free version and I personally do not have an issue and can still use this application to satisfy my educational needs. With this being said, the free version is still a workable version. In other words, you can use the free version and still have an enjoyable experience without being pressured into buying the application.
Study Blue offers an excellent and easy to use user interface (As seen to the right). The user can easily create folders organized by classes or any other subject of need. There can be an unlimited amount of files/flash cards in each folder and you can have as many folders as you want. This application is above all else because of this ability. All other applications have poor organizational options, unlike SB
Here is an example of the "Outline review" option SB offers. This option allows the user to see their collection of flashcards in a list format (To the left).
This image to the immediate left is an example of the "Quiz Review" function. This option allows the user to be tested on their flashcards. Which is useful if preparing for a matching quiz or vocabulary quiz.
The two images, the top and bottom, show how the flashcards are use on a mobile device. You simply tap on the definition or word and then the result is the other. For instance, if you tap on the word you will then see the definition.
This picture shows how the application offers many options that the user can choose from. For example, they can choose how many flashcards they want to study and in what order.
This is how the user interface looks like while choosing which mode to study in (As brought up before). The picture to the right depicts what the inside of a folder looks like.
