Kahoot is a wonderful game to help students learn; while at the same time being very simple and intuitive for teachers to create and use. Once the teacher has an account made, she/ he is able to create a game. To make the game, all you have to do is one by one, type in the questions you would like to quiz your students on, and then make up to 4 answers (only one right answer) for the kids to choose. Essentially, the game is making a multiple choice test fun for the students. When you have finished creating all the questions, it will be available for your students to use. When you start a game, you will need your students to join. The easiest way to set up the game for students to join is with a simple code. You can give the code to your students and when they type it into their devices, they will be ready to play. Each game has a scoring system that will grant points only if the question is answered correctly. If the answer is answered correctly, you will get points based on how quickly you answered the question, and how long your streak is for how many questions you have answered correctly. At the end of the game, the leaderboard will show who knows the most and who has answered the most questions correctly.
While Kahoot may just seem like an easy game that has no purpose, my experience with it is that it is a very good app that does help me learn. In a few of my classes I took in my Sophomore year, we would play the game often, and it always helped me to see what I already knew and what I would need to review more later that night. From my experience, I would strongly recommend Kahoot to any teachers who want their students to learn, but also keep them entertained in class.
