Duolingo is an app used to learn languages, that has been around for a long time, but has been constantly updated, and thus has changed alot. The logo itself has changed drastically. The newest logo is from 2019. The app itself has also been adding languages and updating the programs for those languages. The app is designed in such a way that it seems like a game. It seems to be most of time referred to as "Gamified Learning". There are no real games in Duolingo as of yet, however, people seem to be proposing this idea often, since at least 2014. As it is, the app is fun to use, and educational, in that you can learn a language very quickly. Although, to be fair, the last time I used it was in 2016, it seems the general consensus is that it's really helpful.  When I used to use it it was fun. Although, that was with my cousin and brother, so it might have been the fact that we were all together that made it fun. Also, the voice recognition software wasn't great. Or maybe it was the recording hardware of my iPad. At any rate, something was amiss. Because sometimes when, when I said the right thing, it said I was wrong, and vice versa. This led to endless fun with saying random things that really weren't all that funny, and having it say we were correct. I'm not selling this fantastically, am I? Well, it does work really well. I didn't use it for much, but I learned quite a bit for one summer. I mean, I couldn't speak with a german person, really, but I could say some sentences. I... couldn't do that now, in German. Also, Duolingo is an endless supply of memes.  Some pretty funny ones. And it really is fun to use. The voice recognition has likely improved since 2016. Overall, it is a fun and effective way to learn a language.
