How to make and set up Kahoot

Step 1. Designing The Kahoot

Firstly, head to Kahoot.com and either log in or sign up if you haven't already done so. Next, click the create button up top and pick a game type. There are 4 varieties of options you can choose from: Quiz, Jumble, Discussion, and Survey. The quiz is multiple choice questions jumble is putting answers in the right order, the discussion is a one question survey without a point, and the survey is poll without points to gather options. When you have picked one of the game types, fill in the settings and details for the kahoot. To make it easier, you can be able to import questions from a worksheet to fill in the information. You can also add in videos and cover images. After, set up the questions and answers, making sure to mark the correct and incorrect answers. A good tip would be to set the time limit fairly long so all the students can have enough time to read the questions and pick in time. Also, try not to make the answers too broad or long or else the students will have a harder and longer time picking out the answers. When you are finished, click save and can then preview, play, or share your kahoot to your class.

Step 2. Starting Up The Kahoot

To start up and run your new made kahoot, simply log in and pick the one you'd wish to use in your library. You can either have it be played in a live setting (projector) and students can see the questions or have it set so the students can see questions and answers on their mobile devices directly in front of them. All students must have a mobile device on them in order to play kahoot. They are then required to go to kahoot.it to put in the game pin displayed on your screen. You can use a game pin or also a pattern in order to join the session.

Step 3. Running The Kahoot

All you have to do now is press next to the questions when all the students have marked in their answers. It will display the number of people who put down the answers on the right side of your screen. When you press next, it will show the top 5 people who are in the lead. To keep in mind, the score setting works by not only getting the answer right but how fast they answer it. Better to get the answer right while answering it slowly rather than answering fast and end up getting it wrong. Once the Kahoot is finished, it will show the top 3 winners on the screen. You can give the winners prizes if you wish to do so
