Flipgrid Review

Flipgrid

Flipgrid is free website that teachers can use to teach and communicate with their students while their students are at home. The website allows teachers to post videos and assignments that students can respond to in the form of a video. Video responses can be anywhere from 15 seconds to 15 minutes. The teacher receives all of the students responses in the form of a grid and can share the grid with the rest of class if necessary. This website is a great way for students and teachers to connect and get to to know each other better while being remote.

Flipgrid has many benefits and can help teachers in many ways. It makes assignments much easier and allows you to have class discussions while being at home. It also ensures that students are doing their own assignments because the only way to respond is with videos. Teachers can use videos to clearly describe assignments and to give students a better understanding of what they have to complete. Students are also able to attach links to support their videos. This website is a way of doing assignments that hasn't been done much in the past so it may interest more students in completing assignments. The only downside is that students may not take it seriously and may upload inappropriate or immature videos.

This website is getting more and more popular and teachers are seeing good results from using it. Being able to see other classmates responses and opinions in the grid also helps the students learn and grow from each other. Flipgrid also teaches students communication and presentation skills that they won't normally get from being in a classroom. Lots of students are nervous or afraid to present or talk in front of a class or teacher but flipgrid allows students to take their time and practice and plan their video responses before posting them to the teacher or class. Students can present and discuss with confidence. Many teachers are struggling with technology and ways to communicate with their students while being remote. Flipgrid makes a teachers job much easier and brings classes together.
