Recently, Mr. Wiczer had a problem with his projector and cleaning its filter. He kept having an error message on the board asking to clean the filter. To solve this problem a team of Analyn, Alex, and I went down to his room and followed these instructions:
- Push the button to release the filter unit and pull it out
- Remove dust from the filter unit by wiping it with a cloth or shaking it around
- Put the filter unit back into the projector cabinet
- Most importantly: Reset the filter usage hours with the projector remote press Menu and then on the projection navigate to Default >> Clear Filter Usage >> Enter >> Yes
This last step is necessary to manually confirm that the filter has been cleaned. The way that the projector works is that it has a timer to approximate the usage time it should be cleaned and alerts with the error once that limit has surpassed. To make the clean filter error go away, this is an essential part of the process.
